If, like me, you read The Ticket in the Irish Times every Friday (and really, you have no excuse, most of it free to read online), you would have read that the album of the week this week was Ida Maria's Fortress Round My Heart. I haven't had the chance to hear it yet, but the few songs I have heard are pretty damn good.
If, like me, you get the MCD newsletter in your mailbox every week, then you'd have read that her 4th of November performance at Whelan's is going to be her live debut in Ireland. Unfortunately, they're mistaken, as she gave a cracking performance at Oxegen: Saturday on the 2FM New Band Stage to be exact.
Either way, check her out when she returns. Tickets are on sale now, priced €14.50.
