Pink came back to Ireland for yet another date on her endless Funhouse tour. This time it was the Summer Carnival leg of the tour, having played the O2 a number of times in the past year. She was enamoured with Dublin once again, praising the Dunbrody House Hotel in Arthurstown on her twitter, as well as having this to say once the gig itself was over (all [sic]): "Oh dublin. My drunk fun consistent lover. I have always loved your spirit and I still do. We made tonight our bitch. TANKS!"

Former Everybodyfields singer Jill Andrews is set to release her debut solo album this year. She came out with a self-titled EP last year, which was extremely impressive (better than anything by her previous band, in my opinion). She recorded a live session for HearYa which was posted yesterday, and played a new, unheard song which could be from said upcoming debut record.

They may have performed a full length gig at the Olympia Theatre, but Tower Records on Dublin's Wicklow Street was the place to be yesterday as Tegan and Sara played a nice intimate gig to a capacity crowd. You can watch it all below.

Live: RSAG Irish Tour

Kilkenny's Jeremy Hickey (aka Rarely Seen Above Ground, or R.S.A.G. for short) is back with a new album, Be It Right or Wrong (expect a review of it on here by Friday). He's also back with a nationwide tour in support of the album.

The tour is kicking off tonight at Dolan's in Limerick, and visits some of Ireland's finest music venues. The Kilo will provide support at all the shows, with the excellent 202s also on the bill for the Academy. Tickets for the Academy show are €13.50, so it's not an expensive night out. Well worth it.

Live: Conor Furlong at Whelan's

Conor Furlong will be playing his first ever Whelan's headline gig with his new band on Tuesday the 29th of June. I'd highly recommend it, as it's sure to be an excellent gig. Conor could definitely take off with the right promotion team behind him. He already has the tunes.

Album News: RPA and the United Nations of Sound - United Nations of Sound

Good news Richard Ashcroft solo fans (not so sure whether it's good news for Verve fans, but you must admit that Forth was fairly disappointing). He's back with a new project, RPA and the United Nations of Sound. Richard Ashcroft, alongside Steve Wyreman (guitar), Paul ‘DW’ Wright (bass), and Derrick Wright (drums) are to release debut album United Nations of Sound on July 16th on Parlophone. The album is produced by Chicago hip-hop producer No ID (Common, Jay-Z), with string arrangements from Benjamin Wright (Michael Jackson), and engineering by Reggie Dozier (Outkast, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye). Not a bad castlist at all.

Live: Halves at Airfield House

There's a lot of great gigs on this weekend. Another one to add to your calender is Halves' only headline gig of the summer at Airfield House in Dundrum, Dublin 14.

Halves are definitely one of Ireland's best unsung bands. After seeing them on Other Voices last year I was extremely impressed, and would have loved to see them make their American debut at this year's SXSW. Impressive.

Zach De La Rocha, Tom Morello and the RATM crew brought the rock to the O2 in Dublin last night. According to friends of mine who were at the show, it was an amazing spectacle, and there were many highlights including 'Know Your Enemy', 'Bulls on Parade', and of course that Christmas Number 1 'Killing in the Name of'.

Watch: Seth Lakeman - Hearts and Minds

Hearts and Minds is the new album from Seth Lakeman, and like a lot of his albums so far contains a track with the same name as the album. The song 'Hearts and Minds' is the first single from the album. The single is due out June 21st, with the album following a week later.

Live: Planet Parade at Whelan's

After being announced for this year's Oxegen Festival, homegrown band Planet Parade are set for a headline show at Whelan's this Saturday night (the 12th). But don't worry, the England-USA World Cup match will be over by then! The band are doing splendidly at the moment, following the release of their Ghosts To People EP just a few months ago.

Support on the night comes from Doctor Leaves, and tickets are a bargain at €5.

Watch: Every Ireland World Cup Song Ever

With the 2010 World Cup starting next week in South Africa, most of Ireland's men will be tuned in to the telly cursing at the fact we're not there instead of France. If Thierry Henry gets a run-out at any time, the decibel level is sure to rise fivefold. But just imagine if we were there, then we'd have four weeks of having to listen to both our official and unofficial World Cup songs. The Irish have had some good teams over the ages, but not as many good World Cup anthems. Although you can't go wrong with 'Put 'Em Under Pressure'. Still a classic.

I'm probably missing a good few unofficial ones here, so if you know of any, leave a message in the comments and I'll try to add it. Also, some of these videos are terrible, but they're all that's available.

1988 - European Championships, West Germany
Ireland's first ever international football competition was also our first attempt at trying to create a soundtrack for a sporting event. The songs were the musical equivalent of a nil-all draw. Very uninspiring, and not something you want to go back and revisit very often.

1990 World Cup, Italy
1990 was Ireland's best ever World Cup, not just on the field (Packie Bonner sand David O'Leary have been heroes ever since), but off it as well. One half of U2 (the less well-known half) took it upon themselves to turn a riff from the Horslips into an anthem. And it worked. We've been singing that one World Cup song ever since. Nobody has come close. Also, who can forget that Billy Joel cover by Memories? Oh dear Jesus. Allegedly Joel himself actually tried to sing some of the lyrics to it when he came to play Ireland later that year.

Ireland's most recent World Cup was probably the one with the worst song yet. I mean, it has Dustin and the bloke from Aslan, but even worse contains the line "Sayounara Connemara". I also remember there were other songs in 2002, but can't remember the names. Anyone care to jog my memory?

Album News: Feeder - Renegades

After toying with the Renegades side-project, Feeder are back under their original moniker, and have chosen to call their new album Renegades instead. They had released an EP as Renegades, but their new full-length will be a Feeder record. The lead single from the album is 'Call Out', which comes out on June 14th, and had previously been a side-project tune. The album itself is due July 5th.

Feeder are due to play the Academy on August 19th.

Watch: The Tallest Man on Earth - Bob Dylan Covers

The Tallest Man on Earth has long been compared to Bob Dylan. At a show in Lincoln Hall, Chicago on May 28th, he didn't help himself move away from those comparisons. In fact, he's moved even closer, as he played a cover of Bob Dylan's 'I'll Keep it With Mine'. Not only that, he then followed it up with his take on 'The Man in Me' with Nathan Rathlieff.
