Live: Gomez at the Academy

For the second time this year, Gomez will be playing at the Academy. This time it's in November, on the 28th, with tickets priced at €26. They should be on sale next week or the week after.

Volcano Choir is the new project of Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and Milwaukee's Collectiosn of Colonies of Bees. They've recorded an album together, Unmap, which will be released on September 22nd in the US. Expect it to feature on many critics' year-end lists.

Live: Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Vicar Street

Banjo legend Bela Fleck will be coming back to Ireland for the first time in years to play Vicar Street on November 4th. I saw Bela Fleck and the Flecktones supporting Dave Matthews Band at Randall's Island in New York a few years back and their live show is astounding. They are fantastic musicians. Every one of them.
