Country sensation Joe Pug released his debut album Messenger today on Lightning Rod and you can stream it in full on Spinner. It's the follow-up to the Nation of Heat EP, and is a wonderful step up from the singer-songwriter. Joe Pug will be supporting Josh Ritter on his Irish Tour next month.

He put out two EPs last year, recorded his full-length debut, and has been touring heavily with luminaries such as Justin Townes Earle and Josh Ritter (oh, and Justin's dad, Steve). Joe Pug will be releasing the follow-up to his fantastic Nation of Heat EP. Messenger will be a full length album, and will be released on February 16th, 2010. It's coming out on Lightning Rod records which is the home of Jason Isbell, and is currently touring with Justin Townes Earle. You can see now why I'm so excited!
